The Lady Cougars are regarded by many as one of the top programs in the Houston area as they have participated in the play-offs in all but one year since the softball play-off sytem was implemented in 1993.  The Cougar softball team has particpated in the State Tournament in 1993, 1994, 2004, 2005 and 2010.  Additionally, the Cougs were Regional finalists in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2010 and Regional Quarter Finalists in 2012.  Many THS alumni have moved on to play softball at the collegiate level as well as one alum trying out for the Womens Fastpitch Team in Arizona.  


Head Coach

Alicia Pierucci

A 1997 Tomball graduate and a member of the 1994 State Softball team, Alicia Pierucci has returned to her alma mater to be the second Head Softball Coach in Tomball school history.

Coach Pierucci was a multi sport athlete while at THS.  In addition to being a 4 yr softball letterman, she played 4 years of volleyball and 2 years of basketball as a Cougar. After high school she continued her softball dreams by receiving a full scholarship to play for the University of Texas at San Antonio where she was a 4 year starter as a second baseman for the Runners. She majored in Kinesiology and received her teaching degree at UTSA.

This is her 12th year of being a High School Head Softball Coach and she is truly living her dreams by being back here at Tomball HS. She is finally HOME!

Alicia is the Daughter of Marty and Margie Pierucci and sister of former Softball Cougar, Angela (Pierucci) Fowler.


Assistant Coaches

Crystal Sales is a 1994 graduate of Tomball High School where she was a member of both the 1993 and 1994 State Softball Tournament teams. She graduated college from The University of Texas at San Antonio with a B.A. in English Literature and also played 1st base for the Roadrunners. Coach Sales has had the honor of playing softball against many Olympic teams including USA, Japan, Italy, Chinese Taipei, and The Netherlands. This is her first year at Tomball and her sixth year teaching/coaching. She will be teaching World Literature (English II) and coaching softball and basketball. In her spare time she enjoys interior design as well as travel, and is excited to be a Tomball Cougar once again!

David Curington was born in Houston, Texas and graduated from Texas A&M with a Bachelor's degree in 1991, and a Master's degree in 1994.  David is married to Erin Curington and has two children, Kendall and step-daughter Lainey.  He has been coaching for 17 years.  Coach Curington will be coaching Varsity Football and Junior Varsity Softball.
