Austin McQuary was born in Taylor, TX and raised in Thorndale, TX. After graduation he attended Texas Lutheran (College) University where he received his BA in Physical Education and Biology in 1988. Austin began his Teaching/Coaching career at Tomball in 1989. During this time, he served as Junior High coach for seven years, Freshman Assistant for two years, Head Freshman coach for seven years, Varsity Receiver’s coach seven years. Presently, Austin is in his 24thyear as Head Girl’s Track coach and 3rdyear as Head Cross Country coach. Austin and his wife, Jolynn, have been married for 24 years. They have three children, Madison (18), Hunter (16) and Taylor (14).
Chad Gainey is in his 14th year coaching (2nd at Tomball). He will be coaching the safeties in football and will be returning as the head boys track coach. He is from Slidell, LA and graduated from McNeese St. University in 2000. He has been married for 13 years to Jana, from Spring Texas. They have 3 children: Chris (10), Matt (9) and Laura (7).
Patrick Fleming is starting his third year of coaching and teaching at Tomball. He is a Houston native and SMU Alum who graduated in 2012 with a Business degree along with lettering four years and going to two Bowl games, including the 2009 Hawaii Bowl, which marked SMU’s first in 25 years. He will be coaching freshman football and assisting in track along with teaching Texas History and World Geography.
Scott Reid was born in Dallas, Texas and graduated from De Soto High School in 2001. He met his wife, Melissa, at Stephen F. Austin State University where he was a track and field athlete. Scott comes from Jersey Village High School where he taught Algebra and coached football and track. Scott and Melissa, also an educator in TISD, have been married for 5 years and are the proud parents of their daughter Kendall.
Tony Vo begins his 4th year at Tomball High School and his 14th year in coaching. He attended Klein Forest High School, received his Bachelor's degree from University of Houston and a Master’s in Educational Technology Leadership from Lamar University. Coach Vo has been married for 10 years to his lovely wife Kham and has two children: Noah 6 and Evan 1.
Karen Lemker is in her 30th year as the head coach of the girls’ basketball team at Tomball High School and her 35th year of teaching and is eagerly awaits the upcoming basketball season. Coach Lemker graduated from the University of Texas @ Arlington where she played collegiately with certifications in Physical Education, Health and Mathematics. Coach Lemker earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from PVAMU. Karen began her coaching career at Cypress Creek where she was an assistant coach for 5 years. In the past two years, Lemker has led the Lady Cougars to the Regional Finals and Regional Quarterfinals and strongly believes in the potential of this year’s team to make another playoff appearance.
