Seniors - Preparing to complete the FAFSA

Seniors,
 
October 1st will be here before you know it to begin filing your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).  Who should complete the FAFSA?  Everyone!!  www.fafsa.ed.gov
 
What can you do now?  You can create your FSA ID.  Both you and your parent will need an FSA ID.  You can create it at Create your FSA ID Make sure to use your legal name that is on your social security card.
 
Most colleges have set March 1st - 15th as the priority deadline to complete your FAFSA.  Please check the college/university website for their priority deadline.
 
What if you don't have a social security number?  You'll complete the TASFA (Texas Application for Student Aid).  Visit the College For All Texans website to access the TASFA or contact the financial aid office of your college you plan on attending.  The TASFA is a paper application.  (The 2018-2019 TASFA may not be available until October 1st)  College For All Texans  (Financial Aid > Types of Financial Aid > Your Financial Aid Application - TASFA or FAFSA?
