Welcome to the THS College & Career Center page!  My name is Emily Nichols, the College and Career Counselor for THS.  I have been in Tomball ISD since 2007, and began my career in education in 1999.  I graduated from Sam Houston State University with a BA in Fashion Merchandising, and a minor in Business.  In 2004 I received my Masters of Education in School Counseling from Sam Houston State University.
I am here to meet your students college and career needs.  Students are always welcome in Cougar Corner (College & Career Center).  Parents may simply contact me and schedule an appointment.  I work with all grade levels in different areas of college and career readiness throughout each year.  Many events will be held each year for students to learn more about post high school options, careers, financial aid, and much more.  Make sure you check out the many resources I have posted for you.  The Links section is organized by area of interest with many helpful links for students and parents.
I am the Dual Credit Coordinator for our campus.  You will find helpful information on Dual Credit for our campus. We partner with Lone Star College, Tomball.  Our LSC Dual Credit Advisor is Erica Clark.

HOBY Leadership Seminar 2018 (for Sophomores)

Dear Sophomores,

You have an amazing opportunity to be a part of something big!  The Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Seminar, otherwise known as HOBY Leadership Seminar gives students the opportunity to empower, lead, and excel.

Leadership Seminars (LS)

HOBY’s flagship program, the State Leadership Seminar (LS) is designed to help high school sophomores to recognize their leadership talents and apply them to become effective, ethical leaders in their home, school, workplace and community.

The seminar curriculum is based on the Social Change Model of Leadership and develops leadership from three perspectives: Personal Leadership, Group Leadership, and Leadership for Society.

Selected students attend our three- or four-day seminars and participate in hands-on leadership activities, meet leaders in their state, and explore their own personal leadership skills while learning how to lead others and make a positive impact in their community.

THS sends one male and one female representative each year to the HOBY Leadership Seminar.  This year's seminar will be on June 15th through the 17th at the University of Houston in Houston.

For those interested in applying to represent THS, see the attached flyer for details on application requirements.  Don't miss out on this great opportunity!  Make sure to watch live announcements to hear from own THS HOBY Leaders from 2016-2017!
