Welcome to the THS College & Career Center page!  My name is Emily Nichols, the College and Career Counselor for THS.  I have been in Tomball ISD since 2007, and began my career in education in 1999.  I graduated from Sam Houston State University with a BA in Fashion Merchandising, and a minor in Business.  In 2004 I received my Masters of Education in School Counseling from Sam Houston State University.
I am here to meet your students college and career needs.  Students are always welcome in Cougar Corner (College & Career Center).  Parents may simply contact me and schedule an appointment.  I work with all grade levels in different areas of college and career readiness throughout each year.  Many events will be held each year for students to learn more about post high school options, careers, financial aid, and much more.  Make sure you check out the many resources I have posted for you.  The Links section is organized by area of interest with many helpful links for students and parents.
I am the Dual Credit Coordinator for our campus.  You will find helpful information on Dual Credit for our campus. We partner with Lone Star College, Tomball.  Our LSC Dual Credit Advisor is Erica Clark.

Girls State 2017 - For Juniors

Girls State is a wonderful opportunity for our junior girls to enhance their leadership skills and learn more about our local, state, and national government.  Please submit your essay to be considered by February 8, 2017 to the Career Center.  One student will be chosen to represent Tomball High School.

TMHS FAFSA and Financial Aid Night - Tonight at TMHS! Jan. 19th

EVENT TONIGHT!!!  January 19, 2017

TMHS is hosting a Financial Aid & FAFSA Night on January 19, 2017 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.  THS families are welcome to attend.

Don’t forget that completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is the first step to obtaining financial aid and is often a requirement for other scholarships.

*Seniors Only - If you would like personal assistance with starting or completing your FAFSA, Financial Aid Specialists from Lone Star College –Tomball will be here to help.  Please reserve your spot at the following link.  There is limited space in the TMHS computer lab.

Once you reserve your spot, you will be sent a confirmation with information about what to bring.

Mark your calendar for the College & Career Fair at THS!  There's something for everyone!  Come and go event from 6 to 7:30 pm in the THS Sport Court/Lego gym.

Friday, January 13th (FOR 9TH GRADE STUDENTS ONLY)
TAMS (Texas Academy of Math and Science)
Sign up to see one of our own THS students who is now attending TAMS, which is the Texas Academy of Math and Science.  TAMS is a unique residential program at the University of North Texas for high school-aged Texas students who are gifted in math and science.  TAMS is a two-year program (grades 11 & 12) for high-ability students considering STEM careers. Students pay no tuition, book costs, or fees for fall and spring semester classes. TAMS is not in session during the summer. After two years, students will have earned 57 or more college credits and may continue their education at UNT, or transfer to other universities in state or out, usually at advanced standing.  Presentations will be during all lunches on Friday, January 13th.  
Tuesday, January 17th (Open to ALL grade levels)
Art Institute of Houston
For all grade levels, the Art Institute of Houston will have a presentation at 8:30 am on Tuesday, January 17th.  The Art Institute offers a wide array of majors from culinary, photography, visual design, graphic design, marketing, animation, film production, and gaming technology.  Come learn more about AI Houston and all the great opportunities!
