Welcome to the THS College & Career Center page!  My name is Emily Nichols, the College and Career Counselor for THS.  I have been in Tomball ISD since 2007, and began my career in education in 1999.  I graduated from Sam Houston State University with a BA in Fashion Merchandising, and a minor in Business.  In 2004 I received my Masters of Education in School Counseling from Sam Houston State University.
I am here to meet your students college and career needs.  Students are always welcome in Cougar Corner (College & Career Center).  Parents may simply contact me and schedule an appointment.  I work with all grade levels in different areas of college and career readiness throughout each year.  Many events will be held each year for students to learn more about post high school options, careers, financial aid, and much more.  Make sure you check out the many resources I have posted for you.  The Links section is organized by area of interest with many helpful links for students and parents.
I am the Dual Credit Coordinator for our campus.  You will find helpful information on Dual Credit for our campus. We partner with Lone Star College, Tomball.  Our LSC Dual Credit Advisor is Erica Clark.

Are you preparing for the SAT or ACT this spring?  These are two great opportunities to take FREE practice tests.  Please make sure to reserve your spot.
The City of Shenandoah is looking for volunteers to assist with their NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championship they are hosting on March 15-18th at the Conroe ISD Natatorium.  Volunteers would be assisting with keeping up with swimmer's time, helping usher attendees, and multiple other opportunities.  VOLUNTEERS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE RECRUITED BY NCAA.  Please see the flyer for more details and contact information if this is something you would like to do.

Students who attend will be reviewing textbooks for our upcoming adoption for Spanish, French, and German courses. Below is the information for students to receive hours:


Students do not have to be enrolled in LOTE courses to participate. Students will use a rubric located on the survey to rate (from 1-5) the textbook publishers that they review. Students may rate the German, French, and/or Spanish textbook publishers, but they are not required to review all three languages. Surveys will be submitted through a Google form ( on the day of the event only for verification.


  • Earn 1 hour: Complete the survey for 2 different textbook publishers.
  • Earn 2 hours: Complete the survey for 4 different textbook publishers.
  • Students are welcome to ask the textbook publishers questions about their textbooks.

Career & Education Day!

The 31st Career and Education Day (CED) will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the newly renovated George R. Brown Convention Center. Register today, REGISTRATION


CED allows middle and high school students to dream of satisfying and lucrative career possibilities.  When over 23% of our students in Harris County (according to Children at Risk) are dropping out of high school, CED is more relevant than ever helping give students hope for a better future.  Avoid long lines the morning of the event by having each person pre-register. REGISTRATION


This family event also offers FREE - lunch, event App, METRO rides to the GRB, FAFSA and DACA assistance onsite, childcare, entertainment, and many prizes!

Colleges That Change Lives Event - Summer 2017

Colleges That Change Lives (CTCL) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting a student-centered college search.  Summer programs in our area have been announced!  The programs are designed to offer students and parents a new perspective on college admission, to address some of the misconceptions about college admission, and to help connect students with representatives from CTCL-member colleges.  All programs are free and open to the public.  Mark your calendar and plan to attend an event!  Event details can be found online at
