My name is Rachel Christopher, and I am the Cougar Charms Drill Team Assistant Director, and the Dance Teacher for THS.
I am from Katy,TX where I graduated from Seven Lakes High School in 2014. After high school, I continued my education at The University of Oklahoma where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Human Relations and a minor in Communication. I also have my teaching certification in Dance Education and Physical Education.
After college, I moved to Dallas to work in recruiting for two years, while also working as a staff member of Crowd Pleasers Dance Camps during the summers and spring time.
I am very excited for the opportunity to get to work with the Cougar Charms and the students in my dance classes this year. I hope to instill a love of dance in my students as well as responsibility, dedication, team work, and discipline.

THS Dance Class:

Dance I offers an introduction to dance. This is a beginner level dance course which will include strength & conditioning, dance terminology, dance skills, memory, execution, and performance quality. This course is also used for Cougar Charm Drill Team Prep and the students will be introduced to drill team technique.

Dance II & III offers a more in depth look at each genre of dance with increasing opportunities in choreography with a more advanced skill level & terminology. This is a disciplined course with high expectations.

Participating in class is a must and Discipline is emphasized as part of dance in order to train with complete concentration. To begin a typical class: roll is checked, warm-up, history or terminology discussed, and floor work will be conducted.

I am excited about the dance program this year and I look forward to seeing you in class!
