Acting Audition Requirements: Please prepare two contemporary, contrasting 60-90 second monologues from a published contemporary English language play or screenplay.
Musical Theatre Audition Requirements: Please prepare two contrasting musical theatre songs with musical accompaniment on a USB, personal musical player (e.g. iPhone), and one 60-90 second monologue from a published contemporary English language play or screenplay.
Only seniors are encouraged to audition as this event as this will be for enrollment next year. Students must have a headshot and updated resume. Please have 3 copies at least to hand out. This will be the official audition for NYFA. It is important to come prepared as you will be looked at for acceptance and financial aid to NYFA. Students must dress professional and have headshot.
Portfolio Reviews for Degree Programs: (i.e. Filmmaking, Screenwriting,
Creative samples can be accepted in various stages of development, or as completed work. Examples of work can range from drawings, conceptual illustrations, short films, poetry, short stories, storyboards, designs, photographs, three-dimensional models, or digitally generated images. Students may choose to submit a typed screenplay or short story (10 page maximum). Please come fully prepared and many examples of your work to show the head of admissions. This will be the official interview to NYFA and students will be looked at for acceptance and financial aid. Students must dress profession and bring portfolio.
Students and their parent/guardian can attend a 60 minute presentation about NYFA. This is an opportunity to learn everything there is to know about NYFA. Afterwards, we will open the floor to Q&A where parents can answer questions about the college.
