Welcome to Dual Credit English!
This is my 6th year at Tomball ISD, and my 16th year in education overall. I absolutely love it here! Prior to Tomball, I taught in Magnolia ISD and Cy-Fair ISD. I have a beautiful wife and three wonderful children! I have a BFA in Radio/Television/Film and a Masters in Education and English, both from Sam Houston State University. I love reading, writing, football, and movies. Students will learn that soon enough as I often sprinkle references to various films throughout my lessons.
It is my belief that every child is capable of achieving anything that they set their mind to. Sometimes they just need a little push or encouraging word to get there. I strive to provide that added push for them. It is my goal that by the time they leave my classroom, students will have the tools necessary to succeed in college and beyond.
Back in February of 2018, I had the distinct privilege of giving a TEDx Talk for Lone Star College Tomball. Though I'm clearly very nervous in the video (I had never given a speech in front of hundreds of my peers before), I think you'll find that it gives a deeper insight into my teaching philosophy. If you're interested, please feel free to give this a watch!
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I also can be reached at 281-357-3220 (x2315). However, email is a faster way of communication with me as I check my email multiple times throughout the day. Please note that if you are trying to reach me over a school break, I will not be able to check my phone, so please email me.
Officially, I have tutorials right after school every Monday from 2:35-3:30 pm, and every Tuesday morning from 6:45-7:15 am. Unofficially, however, if you need to stay later or come in early on a different day my door is always open. I can make arrangements with you for any weekday (except Thursdays) before/after school as long as you let me know you are coming.
