Equine Science

Equine Science is a semester course in our Animal Systems Pathway. This course, along with Small Animal Management, is also a prerequisite for our Veterinary Medical Applications course.
 

This is an introductory course designed to prepare students for involvement within the equine industry.  Students will enhance their knowledge and skills pertaining to the selection, evaluation, digestion system, circulatory system, breeding procedures, proper handling, various events, equipment, feed requirements and proper record keeping of members of the equine species. Animals studied will include donkeys, horses and mules.
